This July, paddlers from across the USA will converge on the Nantahala for this youth whitewater kayak event. Showcasing freestyle, slalom and downriver competitions, this event will also offer plenty of just-for-fun events, like a Ducky Cross through the 2013 Wave, SUP, Giant Slalom, and off-the-water social events.
Slalom: Nantahala Bridge Gates Downriver Sprint: Beginner course starts below Nantahala Falls, Advanced course starts above Nantahala Falls. Both finish below the 2013 Wave. Freestyle: Beginner competition at Founder’s Bridge wave, Advanced competition at 2013 Wave Duckie Cross: Nantahala Bridge Gates, parents are invited to participate! Giant Slalom: All NRC members and parents are invited to participate. Negotiate 7 downstream gates in this sprint event at the Nantahala Bridge Gates. Banquet Dinner: All participants free entry. Banquet is held in conjunction with NRC Membership Banquet.
Pre-registration:Register Online by July 27, 2017 to avoid late fees Onsite registration: Register on-site from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Friday and Saturday for weekend competition, there will be NO REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY. A $20 late fee applies to previously unregistered athletes. No late fee applies to registered athletes wishing to add an additional class or event during on-site registration.
NRC welcomes both member and non-member volunteers. Junior Olympics, along with all our other programs, is run entirely by volunteers, and we need your help! Your involvement will lead to a higher quality event, whether you are a certified judge or parent, we can use your help.
